A lab, not a factory.
GO Build Labs exists because small businesses deserve custom software as good as what the big companies get, without the enterprise-sized invoice, the account managers in between, or the six-month wait to see anything work.
Why we started this
Our team came out of corporate IT. Between us we've run the ERP, the CRM, the online store, the security program and the systems underneath all of it, at companies big enough that a bad decision was expensive. On top of that, we've spent 14 years running the IT and security that Chicagoland businesses depend on every day.
So we've watched the same thing happen from both sides for a long time. A company depends on an aging application on its own server that nobody will patch. They ask what it would cost to replace. They get a six-figure quote and a nine-month timeline, and they decide to live with the old thing for another year.
That's a terrible choice to be stuck with, and we came to see it as a pricing problem more than a technology one. So we borrowed the way most software is already sold, with one monthly fee. It covers building the system, hosting it, securing it and improving it, with no giant check up front and no change orders when the real world turns out different from the spec.
AI is what makes the numbers work. It does enough of the heavy lifting that a small, experienced team can deliver what used to take a floor full of people, so you aren't paying for a big agency's overhead to get good software built. AI speeds up the building. Decisions about how the system is put together, security, checking the code, testing and putting it live all stay with experienced people.
The other thing we bring is that we've been the client. We've signed the six-figure quotes, inherited the systems nobody documented, and been the ones on call at 2am when something we chose went down. That tends to make you careful in the right ways.
We stay small on purpose and work with a handful of clients at a time, so the people on your first call are the people writing your code. We think that's a big part of what you're paying for.

Every two weeks you see your app running, starting with a demo in the first week. Clicking through real software tells you far more than any slide deck.
Charge like a utility, not a casino
Hourly billing rewards going slowly. Fixed bids reward padding the estimate. A flat monthly rate rewards us for getting you something useful quickly enough that you want to renew.
Your code is yours
The account holding your code, the documentation and the hosting setup are all in your name from day one. Making it easy for you to leave keeps us working hard to make you want to stay.
Proven tools, good results
We build with mainstream, well-proven tools that any future developer can pick up and maintain. We'd rather see new ideas in how your business runs than in the tools underneath it.
Say no early
If a project isn't a fit (wrong size, wrong shape, or software you shouldn't build at all), we say so on the first call. We'd rather tell you quickly than spend months of your time and money finding out.
