Our ERP is ancient. Can you still connect to it?
Almost always. If it has a way for other systems to connect, we use that. If it only has file imports and exports, we automate those. The portal can also run on its own, with orders and stock copied across once a day, while you decide the ERP's future.
Will our customers use a portal?
They already order from Amazon at home. In our experience, once customers can see live stock and their own pricing, most switch on their own because it's faster than calling. The phone stays available for the holdouts.
What about customers with special terms and contract pricing?
Yes, and it's one of the main reasons to build custom. Contract pricing, tiered discounts, credit holds, minimum orders by line: your rules get built into the system.
