A Procore alternative for contractors who need a fifth of it.
Procore is a serious product built for large general contractors running dozens of subs across many jobs at once. If that's you, it's probably the right answer, and we'll say so. The contractors who come to us are running a handful to a few dozen jobs, need the commercial side to hold together (cost budget, the change chain, pay applications, subcontractor compliance), and are paying for a platform several sizes bigger than they are.
First, the honest part
When you should keep paying Procore.
We'd rather tell you this on a first call than sell you a platform you don't need. If any of these sound like you, staying put is the right call.
- You run large commercial jobs with many subcontractors who are already in Procore. When everyone around you is on the same system, that counts for a lot, and fighting it is expensive.
- Your general contractors or owners require it. That's a contractual matter, and no amount of custom software solves it.
- You need its financial and bid management tools, which really are deep.
When people do move, this is usually why.
Disputes come down to whoever remembers
This is the real cost, and it doesn't show up on an invoice. When a client questions work months later, what you have is whatever somebody can find in a truck or a text thread.
The office can't see the field
Knowing a job's real status means calling the foreman, because what happens on site never makes it into a system the office can check.
Change orders get built but never written up
Verbal changes happen on every job. Whether they get captured decides how the invoice conversation goes.
You use a fraction of what you pay for
Most mid-size contractors need the cost budget, the change chain, pay applications, compliance and the field paperwork. That's a much smaller system than a full construction platform, and a much smaller bill.
The administration is its own job
Enterprise platforms assume somebody's job is running the platform. At your size that person is a project manager doing it between site visits, and the upkeep eats into whatever you were getting out of it.

- A cost budget by CSI division and cost code, tracking committed, actual, changes and remaining from one calculation
- The full change chain: change event to potential change order to a subcontract change order down or a prime contract change order up
- AIA G702 and G703 pay applications off the contract schedule of values, with retainage and stored materials

Questions people ask before switching.
Our GCs require Procore on some jobs. Does that rule this out?
No, and it's a common situation. Plenty of contractors run a Procore login for the jobs that demand it and their own system for everything else, including their own documentation of the Procore jobs. If it helps, we can copy the relevant records across so you're not entering things twice.
Will our foremen actually use it?
They hate software that adds work, which is fair. A daily log that takes a minute and includes photos beats the callback from the office asking what happened. We design for gloves, sunlight and impatience, and your crew sees the build every two weeks.
What about job sites with no signal?
Logs and photos save on the phone and send when the signal comes back, so a dead zone doesn't mean lost documentation.
We do prevailing wage and publicly funded work. Is that covered?
Yes, and it's usually the paperwork that ends up in a side spreadsheet next to a platform rather than inside it. Certified payroll through-dates, sub-tier contractor payroll and Section 3 forms sit in the compliance tracker with insurance certificates and executed contracts, per sub and per job. If you build multifamily, affordable housing, schools or municipal work, scope that part carefully with whoever you buy from.
What stops us ending up locked into you instead?
The custom code is yours from the day we start writing it, kept in an account your company owns, with the hosting in your name. If you leave, you take all of it and hire whoever you like. That's the real difference between owning software and renting it, and it's why the lock-in problem doesn't just move from one vendor to us.
